When you use the remove background tool, it tries to find all the colors in the entire image (or in the selection) that is near the color you are clicking. So if the background you are trying to remove is very clearly color differentiated from the rest, the tool will work very easily.

But often, this is not as easy as that. So you can use 3 technics for the not so simple cases :

- try to limit the working area by doing a selection
- then use the tool several times by clicking on a region with the color to remove and dragging while maintaining the mouse down to enlarge the color range.
- when too much colors are removed, don't hesitate to do some undos, as you may know that LiveQuartz supports unlimited undos from document opening
